Joint Action for Refugee Welfare: Bawadi Organization Engages with Key Partners

In its ongoing efforts to improve the conditions of Sudanese refugees, Bawadi for Peace and Development Organisation participated in a coordination meeting organised by the following organisations:

  1. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
  2. Refugee Law Project.
  3. Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).
  4. African Women and Youth Action for Development (AWYAD).

The meeting was held in cooperation with the Local Community Committee (LC) of the Kirokole area and Bawadi for Peace and Development Organization in Kawempe area.

The meeting addressed key challenges facing refugees, particularly Sudanese refugees in the areas of education, health, and protection.
The Director of Bawadi Organization reviewed the current situation and the difficult conditions refugees are enduring, including the recent events in the Biyale camp. Representatives of the partner organizations affirmed their intention to visit Bawadi’s office soon to continue dialogue and strengthen collaboration.

The NRC Education Officer highlighted the importance of coordinating with Bawadi to support educational opportunities for Sudanese women and expand vocational training programs for various targeted age groups.
